Hip Hop at the CMJ 2010 Music Marathon & Film Festival (10/19 – 10/23)

The multi-genre music and film extravaganza known as the CMJ Music Marathon & Film Festival returns to the streets of New York City, October 19th through the 23rd, unleashing a planned 1,200 performers in more than 75 venues and theaters. With hundreds of music shows and films, dozens of discussion and informational panels, seminars and networking events scheduled, the CMJ 2010 Music Marathon & Film Festival is likely to live up to its reputation as one of the world’s premier music festivals.

Two rounds of artist announcements have occurred so far, along with several panels and an entertainment business law seminar, with many more to be released leading up to the mega-event. Already, big-names are finding their way into the mix, among some of music’s most promising up-and-comers. Hip hop is looking to be represented nicely, with a strong NY-area presence, by a blend of old school veterans and new school upstarts with promise.
