The last time we saw Sinsay and his Livin Dead Entertainment conglomerate, it was at their third annual Rebirth of Hip Hop concert at SOBs, showcasing a flurry of underground and on-the-rise MCs such as Mysonne, Quesfire, Serius Jones and Fred The Godson. Since then, Sinsay has been working to complete his latest mixtape project The Transition, which is now available online.
The Transition features several guest appearances, including Mr. Gat, Remo The Hitmaker, D. Malone and Mistah F.A.B. with production by an assortment of beatsmiths such as Illit Beats, March 3:14 & Illness of 3rd Month Music, S. Dot and several others.
The lead single “I Deserve My Spot” receives the video treatment, directed by Crossphase, and throws a lil’ “Hate Sinsay” at the end. (“Hate Sinsay” is a dope joint, The Transition is almost worth it for that track alone.)
Overall, we liked Sinsay’s performance at the Rebirth show, and this mixtape is a very solid effort from the Bronx spitter. LD Entertainment seems to be a competent, hard working team, and with this level of music production, we expect to see them continue to make a noticeable impact on the scene.
