Lil Wayne called into Funkmaster Flex show on Hot 97 live and direct from Rikers Island. The Young Money heavyweight spoke to Funkmaster Flex about the support he’s received while behind bars, and directed folks to a site set up to help him communicate with fans, www.weezythanxyou.com.
Lil Wayne spoke on what life is like locked up, away from the music business, what music he’s listening to, who he wants to record with when he comes out, what he felt about being mentioned by Eminem, how often he talks to Drake and Nicki Minaj.
Flex’ interview (split into two separate YouTube vids, below) was featured on what appears to be Funkmaster Flex’ spankin’ new website, www.InFlexWeTrust.com.
Overall, Wayne sounded calm, cool and collected, genuinely humbled and optimistic. He says that most of his days and nights consist of reading and responding to fan mail, and spending time on the phone with his family.
Lil Wayne is scheduled to be released from Rikers Island in November, 2010. He plans to release an EP before his release, leading up to the eventual release of The Carter IV.
