Kanye West “Power” Remix, ft. Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz

Kanye West taps big brother Jay-Z and Mr. Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, for the highly anticipated, promised (and overdue) remix to his well-received “Power”. Kanye himself originally hinted that the remix would drop last week, but it took until now, finally hit radio and the internet overnight, on Funkmaster Flex’ radio show and then on hip hop sites like NahRight.

The remix starts off musically similar, but then switches to using the beat from the 1990’s classic club track “The Power,” by Snap.

Many are calling Kanye’s artistic video for “Power”, which he calls a “painting,” a possible front runner for Video of the Year. Kanye was recently interviewed by Angie Martinez, on NY’s Hot 97, where he debuted “See Me Now,” a new song featuring Beyonce and Charlie Wilson. During the interview, Kanye touched upon several issues in his life, including dealing with his mother’s death, the work he’s putting into his new album and his co-sign of Nicki Minaj.

Jay-Z recently performed a concert at Radio City Music Hall in conjunction with Nike’s World Basketball Festival, a concert that was streamed over the internet for free, and was named (along with Swizz and Kanye) among the top 20 hip hop earners by Forbes magazine (Jay-Z was #1, Swizz was #12, but owes the IRS, others).

Kanye West’s album is slated for a November 16 release. In an interesting tidbit, it was announced recently that Kanye will collaborate with Justin Vernon of Bon Iver.

But none of that is why you’re here.
