YC The Cynic has already graced the e-pages of BirthplaceMag.com on a couple of occasions. We reviewed his impressive mixtape debut You’re Welcome and then highlighted him again as one of June’s “5 Reasons Why New York Hip Hop Doesn’t Suck”.
Now, in anticipation of his upcoming project The Spectacle, YC The Cynic drops “Summertime High,” a smoothed out, soul-vibed track that feels like it’s title.
A laid-back vocal delivery casually dances through the JFree (Il De Script)-produced track, as YC depicts a slew of summer living highlights that the heatwave-infested streets of NYC are quite used to these days.
It makes you want to go outside.
The track fits the season well, and while we know the young Bronx wordsmith has more on tap, we would certainly call this a suitable setup for the coming of The Spectacle.
