Summer Jam Canada 2010 is just hours away, boasting an entertaining lineup of hip hop and R&B heavy hitters, including Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Fabolous and T-Pain. The event, being held at the massive outdoor concert arena at Bingemans Camping Resort in Kitchener, about an hour and a half outside of Toronto, is being billed as the region’s premier hip hop event this year.
And we’re there!
Checking on how our Northern neighbors hold down a Hot 97 inspired event, BirthplaceMag.com will be on the grounds, mingling, taking pictures, and watching our hometown homeboy DJ Enuff handle the hosting duties. The campground also has beer gardens (which will explain any blurry photos later), dance competitions (lemme find out I’ll be doing the Dougie up in this piece), basketball contests (I’m open! I’m OPEN!) and several (hopefully dope) opening artists hailing from the country with round bacon.
I’m excited to see how Summer Jam Canada 2010 goes down, and particularly interested in how hip hop heads, located juuuust outside our tri-state area, look at New York in the current hip hop landscape. We’ll be sure to report back as soon as we recover can.
Summer Jam Canada 2010 takes place Saturday, July 17th, from 2pm until 11pm (with a couple of area after-parties, hosted by Rozay and BusaBusss, respectively). Bingemans Camping Resort is here.
If there are tickets available, you can buy them here.
And if you see us, say hi!
