It’s good to hear Rah Digga again. The former Flipmode Squad rapstress has been working on her upcoming release, Classic, and dropped a video for the Nottz-produced “This Ain’t No Kid Rap”.
A hard-yet-playful, semi-minimalist track lays the foundation for Rah Digga to remind listeners of her strong rap voice and clever flow. The class-is-in-session themed video provides the visuals, while the lyrical content centers around Rah’s longevity, reputation for wordplay and a warning to youngsters in the game to respect their hip hop elders.
Rah Digga’s return won’t be filled with guest appearances, telling XXL, “There are no cameo features. I’m just making a statement. You want Rah Digga, you gonna get Rah Digga. I got this. The Boom Bap is back.”
Classic is due out September 14 on Raw Koncept, and will be produced in its entirety by Nottz. The album will be Rah Digga’s first since her 1999 release, Dirty Harriet.
