Check out recap(s) of Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2010 here – Photos, pictures, videos, etc.
Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2010 is New York’s largest hip hop/R&B concert, always with a lineup of heavy hitters in the music world, and tonight is no different as New York (in this case, New Jersey really) welcomes Usher, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz, Ludacris, Gucci Mane, Fabolous, Juelz Santana, Reflection Eternal and DJ Khalid and friends to the new Meadowlands stadium in East Rutherford, NJ tonight, June 6.
Always an exciting time for mainstream urban music, Summer Jam also provides a smaller, “festival” stage, for up and coming and audience favorites, beginning at the time the gates open, until the main event. This year, the festival lineup includes J. Cole, Diggy Simmons, Serani, Gyptian, Sean Price and the finals of the area-wide Boost Mobile MC Challenge.
The concert will be the first held at the brand new Meadowlands, the football stadium where the New York Giants and New York Jets play, which officially opened earlier this year. Hot 97’s Summer Jam is notorious for surprise guests, and sometimes dramatic, WWE-like side stories (i.e., Jay-Z vs Prodigy, a surprise appearance by Michael Jackson, last year’s surprise appearance by current co-headliner, Drake, etc.) so those in attendance will likely witness similar unexpected guests.
