In an opinion piece earlier this year, I said “God Damn You, Joe Budden,” essentially expressing my frustration that Budden’s career has been so plagued by the curse of always-simmeringness, never-explodingness, when I feel that he is, as I put in then, a man who is extremely “introspective, complicated, talented and interesting”. I went so far as to suggest that someone needs to sit and pen a deep journalistic piece around him. There is a mystique around his talent, personality and career that I always thought was worth exploring.
It turns out that for now, the best way to enter the mind of Joe Budden, will be to read Enter the Mind of Joe Budden, the limited edition lyric book that he is releasing on August 10, 2010. According to the Gracie website, where you can pre-order the book, Enter The Mind of Joe Budden will give “fans a closer look at his personality and his songwriting methods”. An autographed copy of the limited edition book, only 300 are to be made, costs $30.
You can catch Joe Budden at SOBs for the book release concert on August 10, 2010 at 9:00pm. Packages are available for a VIP meet-and-greet.
