A while back, we told you 11 Things You Should Know About Eleven aka Ego Crusher, who is signed to Def Beat Entertainment label, headed by Ken Spellman and rap pioneer Dana Dane. Recently, Eleven dropped his 16-track mixtape The Trailer. The project is hosted by DJ Cool A.D., and features an assortment of appearances including Anonymiss (“All Black Everything”), Roshay Shela (“Who You Be Wit”), Mystique (“Ha Ha Freestyle”), Maya Azucena (“Kingz Queens”), Luz (“Move”), London’s Chanelle Gray and Dana Dane (on Eleven’s upcoming single “Dancin’ By Myself”). We noted however, that song drops out abruptly, so you don’t actually hear Gray or Dane. (Must be saving it for the actual single release…)
The Ego Crusher jumps on a few instrumentals-of-the-moment, throwing his hat into the “Beamer, Benz or Bentley” ring with “Bus, Train, Metro,” flowing over Red Cafe’s “I’m Ill” and briefly over Game’s “Shake,” among others.
For those of you who are waiting for Eleven, “the movie”, The Trailer should hold you down for now. For those only now discovering Eleven, there was no really one slam-dunk track on The Trailer that jumped out as effectively as his “Talk My Shit” did, (although the Demo Shopper freestyle was clever and matched Eleven’s voice and delivery well). Luckily, a chunk of “Talk My Shit” shows up on the “Intermission” and the beat reprises on “Credits”.
