DJ Suss One: Maino, Joell Ortiz, Uncle Murda, Cassidy, French Montana, Vado

DJ Suss One spent a good deal of the Memorial Day Weekend mixing on New York’s Power 105.1. I caught a lot of it since I was driving all over (Long Island to Hillsborough, NJ and back on Saturday, the Jones Beach Air Show and a BBQ in Franklin Square Sunday, Hempstead and back to Franklin Square on Monday), spending time with the sunroof top, diggin’ the scene with a gangsta lean and the radio blasting the sounds of summer.

Suss One did his thing, but what caught our ear was him promoting his own joint with Maino, “Let ‘Em Lay”. I had heard this track once previously in passing, and kinda dug the throwback Dr. Dre whine-synth sound on the track (which I found out later was produced by J-Buttah, out of Virginia). I made a mental note to follow up on it for the site, and then promptly, in my infamous scatterbrain fashion, forgot about it.

That is, until Suss One’s email hit my inbox, imploring folks to follow him on Twitter (www.twitter.com/DJSussOne), where he included a link to the Maino track, as well as “That Work (For The Streets)”, featuring Uncle Murda, Cassidy, Joell Ortiz, French Montana and Vado, produced by Reefa.

Lot of NY on these two joints.
