Hip hop heavyweights Jay-Z and Dr. Dre have worked on a collaborative single, titled “Under Pressure”. The previously rumored joint effort was confirmed in a Gameday Live on-air interview in Boston.
A recent photograph showing the two together in a recording studio fueled the initial rumors, which now are being confirmed in part by Dre himself, as well as Interscope exec Jimmy Iovine. Iovine first confirmed the single, stating, “The new song Dre has in his pockets called ‘Under Pressure.’ It’s a brand new single by Dre and Jay-Z.”
Dre also made mention of the track, suggesting he’d like it to be used by David Ortiz as his at-bat anthem, as he and Iovine were at the Boston Red Sox opening day ceremonies.
Considering Jay-Z’s unofficial New York Yankees affiliation, that might not happen.
Then again, considering the Detox delays, the single itself might not happen.
