Check the full recap of the I Love NY Hip Hop concert, featuring Juelz Santana, Maino, Red Cafe, Fabolous, Jadakiss and more.
While a Lloyd Banks surprise appearance will undoubtedly whip the Times Square crowd into an extra frenzy, Juelz Santana, Maino and Red Cafe should be enough to please a recently revitalized New York hip hop audience. DJ Self and DJ Envy, both of Power 105.1, hold down the musical fort for this concert, appropriately billed as the “I Love NY Hip Hop Concert”, a Power 105 “Power Live” event.
Santana glides in on the high of his recent Banks-partnered super-smash “Beamer, Benz or Bentley,” the song of the season which launched a thousand remixes, remakes, add-ons and flips. Maino, who has been heard from pretty consistently since his own breakthrough hit with T-Pain “All The Above”, is currently backed by current songs “Bring It Back DJ” and the I-will-kill-you anthem “Retaliate“. Red Cafe has been bubbling on the NY underground scene for years, most recently releasing a well received club/street joint, “I’m Ill”, with Fabolous.
The show down tonight (3/22) at the B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in Times Square. Doors open at 8:00pm. Showtime is at 9:00pm. BirthplaceMag.com will be there. Hit us up on Twitter or Facebook if you’re going to be in the house. 21+. Tickets are on sale for $20.
