Hip hop luminaries including Styles P, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Immortal Technique, Bazaar Royale, Cormega, SF (Spark Flame), Mr Reo and Lord Finesse (DITC) will hit the stage at SOBs Friday, March 12 for a midnight show to continue to raise funds for Haitian relief efforts after the devastating earthquake that tore through the country on January 12.
From SOBs:
The doors open at 11pm for a late night of honor and tribute to those effected by the tragedy in Haiti. The show gets under way at midnight and Hip-Hop’s heavyweights will go until the early morning.
SOB’s has been the home of Universal Music for the past 28 years, always at the forefront of supporting and promoting Haitian Music & Culture to the world that passes through our doors, and we vow to be there for Haiti even after all the cameras and journalists leave shifting their focus on other newsworthy topics. We were on the grounds in Haiti right after the disaster and had the rare opportunity to see and feel the people’s, pain, needs and frustrations first hand.
The situation is so critical, it calls for us to have a hands on approach on how to immediately help Haiti in a more direct way. Despite the incredible efforts and generous relief support from many countries around the world, the people in Haiti are still facing serious challenges to survive in the years to come.
S.O.B.’s has invited these hip hop artists to perform and assist in the relief efforts for Haiti. The venue has been vigorously serving this movement from day one and will be personally delivering to the Haitian people supplies purchased with the proceeds earned from the concert. This endeavor will be video taped and posted on youtube.com in order to show thanks and accountability to those who were involved with the entire process.
