Fat Joe’s Career Not Ended By 50 Cent: Signs with E1 Music for June Album Release

Despite their public war of words, and 50 Cent’s assertion that Fat Joe’s career is over, the Bronx emcee and Terror Squad captain has signed a new record deal with E1 Music (formerly Koch) to release his upcoming studio album, The Dark Side.

The 2009 battle was highlighted by an incident where word of 50 Cent being rushed to the hospital quickly spread through the internet, with the subsequent release of a video showing the Queens hip hop music icon in tears, having been “injured” by listening to Fat Joe’s album, Jealous One Still Envy 2.

As it happens, Alan Grunblatt, president of E1 Music, also signed Fat Joe to his first album deal at the beginning of his career. Fat Joe has sold more than 2.5 million records as a solo artist, and has also been partially responsible for the careers of other rappers such as Big Pun, Remy Ma and DJ Khalad.

The first single from The Dark Side, “Slow Down”, is currently receiving radio play, and features Young Jeezy. The Dark Side is set for release June 28, 2010.
