Hip pop hit makers the Black Eyed Peas will hit New Jersey and Connecticut stages later this summer as their “The E-N-D” worldwide tour comes around to the New York tri-state area.
The August shows, at the Newark, NJ Prudential Center on the 4th, Hartford’s XL Center, on the 6th, and back in Atlantic City on the 7th, will be some of the first few stops on the last leg of the powerhouse group’s global circle of concerts. By then, the BEP will have had the extraordinary experience of kicking off the FIFA World Cup in South Africa, in a June opening ceremony that will also include international music superstars such as Alicia Keys, Amadou & Mariam, Angelique Kidjo, Black Eyed Peas, BLK JKS, John Legend, Juanes, Shakira, The Parlotones, Tinariwen, Vieux Farka Touré, and Vusi Mahlasela.
Despite the often polarizing attitudes toward the Black Eyed Peas by members of the hip hop community, there can be little argument that the heavily hip hop influenced Black Eyed Peas sound has created a monstrously successful group that knows how to churn out hit after hit. We’re sure that regardless of whether or not one considers BEP rap “purists”, their show will be one to catch.
