As I stated in my earlier post, Big Daddy Kane and Doug E. Fresh were headliners of a Legends of Hip Hop concert last night at The Crazy Donkey, in Farmingdale, NY. Long Island. Strong Island. My home turf.
As an old school hip hop head, and one who is obviously a fan of, and advocate for, New York hip hop, be it old or new school, I was thrilled to witness these two great performers in person. While I had seen Big Daddy Kane perform in the past, several years ago at Club Boom in the Bronx, and Doug E. Fresh with fellow hip hop icon Slick Rick, as they performed together to open up for the greatest female emcee ever, Ms. Lauryn Hill, at Jones Beach Theater, it was still amazing and entertaining to see them both again, in person, and able to capture the moment in the best way I could.
Shakily, and while bopping my head. And chasing Kane into the crowd when he unexpectedly jumped down into it and passes off the mic to a fan.
Aw, you’ll love it. It’s hip hop.
So check out B-I-G-D-A-Double-D-Y-K-A-NE as he’s sure to score, endure for more without a flaw…
You know. Gets “Raw”.
Check back for more clips throughout the day.
