Outasight Won’t Be Out of Sight Much Longer

    Outasight

Here’s the quick re-cap. We came across Outasight a while back. Loved what he was doing. Posted a couple of his songs. Recently, we started a new series, B On The Lookout, highlighting NY-area hip-hop artists we think are worth watching out for. Outasight was next on the list, as we felt we need to retroactively cover some folks we’ve already been aware of.

Well, it won’t be necessary. Outasight, who had previously seen flashes of success including a video on rotation on MTVu, has officially signed with Asylum/Warner, as documented in the video he just released, below, which “tells Outasight’s story, starting with his modest beginnings and continuing through his recent success.”

    Yeah. We can pick ’em.

Again, we like the cat because of his clear talent, interest in pushing the envelope and his interest in stepping outside of the musical box without fear (props also due to his producer/song selections of course). As a former artist and producer who felt some in the industry found it difficult to “characterize/market”, this writer is pleased that creative hip-hop is finding ways to become more visible. Hopefully the label will do him proper.

Good luck Outasight. We will be posting his free release Further (courtesy of LRG Clothing) when it becomes available Dec. 15, and look forward to his Asylum/Warner release next year.
