Brooklyn Bodega, longtime supporter and provider of all kinds of things NY+Hip-Hop, has announced finalists for the next edition of their bi-monthly event, “Show and Prove”, subtitled, “Something For The Ladies”. All performers are female, many from the NY-area, and knowing BB’s reputation, will undoubtedly add one hell of a woman’s touch to the Public Assembly stage. Zarinah has been called a staple in the Philadelphia hip-hop community. She is known for her constant support. Being born and raised in Philadelphia she grew up in the illest eras of music. Taking a quick hiatus to the other side of the country, living in New Mexico for about 5 years is where a great deal of her Latin influences came from. Listening to various genres of music from alternative to soul she knew that music would change her life. She was involved in varying performing arts such as Hip Hop, Jazz and Afro-Modern dance which were studied at the Koresh Dance Company and with her own dance troupe. All the while taking various acting courses at the Wilma Theaters. At the same time she studied piano under the incomparable jazz pianist Dave Burrell and soon after studied vocals under the beautiful jazz vocalist Sherry Butler, former backup singer for Teddy Pendergrass. Soon after taking a break from dance and solely focusing on music, she decided that music would be her main focus. Being inspired by musicians such as the late great J Dilla, Beyonce, Black Milk, Carmen McCrae, Incubus, Lauryn Hill and Little Brother, Zarinah strives to make her own lane and earn the respect of her peers. Currently she is working on various collaborations with other artists such as Charlie K of Writtenhouse (Philly) KennStarr of the Low Budget Crew (DC) and Chaundon of the Justus League (NC), as well as her own projects which include: The Dope Becomes Her mixtape.Kalae All Day
The young rookie from Queens is busy making her way in this Hip-Hop game. Both MC and vocalist, Kalae All Day is a breath of fresh air. A talented MC with a fresh perspective she will add Show and Prove to her growing list of accolades.
